Experiences

Wildlife at Camp

You don’t always have to go into the park. Sometimes the park comes to you.

Gaur

The herd in the clearing

Gaur herds love the grassland on the property, and you can watch them graze from the veranda or your tent’s deck. From March to July they visit almost every day.

Gaur are unpredictable and can be dangerous. Please always keep a safe distance.

Tiger

Choti Mada (T31)

Tigers visit the estate less often than gaur — but they do visit. Choti Mada, the tigress known as T31, was a familiar presence in Kanha for more than a decade and a regular visitor to the camp. She was last seen in 2022.

In February 2024, one of her cubs was spotted by a guest on the camp trails.
